CNPS Audacious (Vessel lost)
Organisation: Commonwealth of New Pacific
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Lightning
Role: Strike fighter tender
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 12
Sub-Vessels: 0

Captain: Captain Kaylie Flaherty
Webpage: CNPS Audacious
Player: Richard
One of the Commonwealth's few classes of attack vessel is the Lightning Class of fighter support vessels, like CNPS Audacious, pictured here. Unlike a carrier, Audacity does not dock or carry the fighters with which she is deployed, but instead, replenishes their systems - power, fuel, food and atmospherics.

The unusual feature of the Lightning design is the heavy weapons. She carries some point defense weapons, as one would expect from a tanker, and she carries no midranged weapons, yet there are the two long ranged energy cannons mounted above and below the centreline forward.

Audacious was lost escorting an unarmed Starliner on an evacuation mission to a war torn sector, in mysterious circumstances still the subject of investigation and rumour.

HES Scarborough
Organisation: Port Block Yards
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Sirius
Role: Armed Fleet Tender
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 25
Sub-Vessels: 2 Starfury fighters

Captain: Captain Aloysious Hart
Webpage: HES Scarborough
Player: Richard
Built to the same general specifications as the earlier HES Sirius, and carrying many of the same post launch upgrades, Scarborough included some significant differences.

The range of her forward sensors was greatly increased over Sirius, although she lacked the heavy atmospheres communications suite. Her engines were of the slightly more advanced Quiberon G Mark VIII design, the advance being mainly in the area of field balancing near singularites, and a small increase in power output. The different engine layout permitted the two Starfury starfighters to be docked below the aft transverse docking corridor. This arrangement greatly suited the pilots, for it did away with the catwalk that Sirius pilots had had to negotiate to make it to their cockpits, and meant that there could be an air seal to the cockpits, reducing the need for bulkier flightsuits.

However the most significant differences lay in her hull. Scarborough was a considerably sturdier ship, with heavier exterior hull plating over the main corridor, and heavy flanges supporting the docking corridors.

HES Sirius
Organisation: Port Block Yards
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Sirius
Role: Armed Fleet Tender
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 24
Sub-Vessels: 1 Shuttle Craft Eagle, 2 Starfury Fighters

Captain: Captain John E. Hunter
Webpage: HES Sirius
Player: Richard
One of the heaviest ships Port Block Yards was operating outside her home sectors at the time, and designated an Armed Fleet Tender, HES Sirius marked a change in the specification of Port Block Yards vessels. While still technically a support vessel, meant for assisting other vessels in space consistent with the repair and maintenance ideals of the engineering conglomerate, her equipment bordered on that of a combat vessel.

Not long before her last declassified voyage, HES Sirius recieved some additional equipment and a suite of upgrades that later became known as the LR (long range) upgrade.

HES Rebecca
Organisation: Port Block Yards
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Longreach
Role: Light Tender, Reconnaissance, Courier
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 6
Sub-Vessels: None

Captain: Karen Fitzpatrick
Webpage: HES Rebecca
Player: Richard
HES Rebecca was among the smallest of Port Block Yards' true starships for a long time, in the days before jump technology became accessible to shuttlecraft. With a standing crew of 6, and nominally a Light Tender, Rebecca performed reconnaissance and courier duties, as well as regularly providing the spearhead of rescue missions, arriving first, to assess and co-ordinate, and moving off once the larger and more fully resourced rescue and support vessels arrived. In more complex missions, where the profile called for more independent teams, Rebecca was occasionally assigned as a support vessel to larger vessels (Armed Fleet Tenders like HES Sirius, or HES Scarborough).

HES Brisbane
Organisation: Port Block Yards
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Sydney
Role: Gunship, Escort, Armed Courier
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 4
Sub-Vessels: None

Captain: Commander Ilich Nanclus
Webpage: HES Brisbane
Player: Richard
The Sydney class gunship was about raw power, weapons, maneuverability, stealth and armour. Large enough to carry her crew of 4 on extended missions, she was the front line of the Yards' convoy escort and interdiction forces.

The ships and their services were highly sought after. A PBY convoy escort reduced the risk of successful attack on the convoy, but a Sydney class escort was a major difference.

HES Adelaide
Organisation: Port Block Yards
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Sydney
Role: Gunship, Escort, Armed Courier
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 4
Sub-Vessels: None

Captain: Commander Laura O'Flaherty
Webpage: HES Adelaide
Player: Richard
The Sydney class gunship was about raw power, weapons, maneuverability, stealth and armour. Large enough to carry her crew of 4 on extended missions, she was the front line of the Yards' convoy escort and interdiction forces.

Adelaide distinguished herself supporting the food and atmospherics runs to Port Block Yards far flung bases during the Mnarchen Expansion.

HES Olgas
Organisation: Port Block Yards
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Chifley
Role: Yard Support
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 2
Sub-Vessels: None

Captain: Captain Alonzo Bouhabib
Webpage: HES Olgas
Player: Richard
HES Olgas represents a class that was the workhorse of the Yards and the fleet for many many years. Sturdy construction, heavy engines, disproportionately high cargo space, and a force field closed hangar bay made these tough little ships ideal for a variety of specialist missions, as well as general shunting and hauling locally around Port Block Yards' great orbital shipyard facilities throughout the galaxy.

Saucy Slayer
Organisation: Especially Cross Piratical Space Dudes
Home Sector: Unknown

Class: Armed Freighter
Role: Privateer
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 16
Sub-Vessels: 1 Mark X and 2 Mark XX rowboats

Captain: Captain Ahab
Webpage: The Saucy Slayer
Player: Richard
The Slayer is as ugly as a hatfull, but entirely capable of swanning the gentille troupe of happy-go-lucky Especially Cross Piratical Space Dudes from place to place, and hauling their treasure along with them. And we love her. And we'll smack the first face that has a word to say against her. In fact, this registration process? You know what you can do with this process? I'll TELL you what you can do with it...

Saucy Sharon
Organisation: Especially Cross Piratical Space Dudes
Home Sector: Unknown

Class: Armed Freighter
Role: Privateer
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 5 - 8
Sub-Vessels: 2 x Mark II rowboats

Captain: Commander Tiberius Flint
Webpage: The Saucy Sharon
Player: Richard
The Sharon is a sturdy ship, ferrying goods and people as needs be. In contrast to the gregariousness generally demonstrated by pirate captains, very little is known of the Sharon's captain, Tiberius Flint.

Liner Tender Puissance (Vessel lost)
Organisation: White Star Line
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Stalwart
Role: Liner Tender
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 12
Sub-Vessels: 0

Captain: Captain Roberto Fellini
Webpage: LT Puissance
Player: Richard
When the spaceborne hotels and warehouses of the White Star Line need to be moved from place to place, its these Liner Tenders, like the seagoing tugboats of old (only larger), that are called upon.

The Liner Tenders have been known to operate autonomously of the Liners themselves, particularly on missions where heavy lifting is expected to be required. The Tenders are fitted out for long range and long duration travel. Even when carrying a Liner, the Tender crews do not generally have a great deal of interaction with the Liner crew or passengers.

Even so, the Tender crew take their responsibility for the safety of the liners very seriously. Puissance was lost defending the liner Brikannic in the empty space at the edge of the galaxy returning from a mercy mission to the war torn Arbor sector.

Star Liner Brikannic (Vessel lost)
Organisation: White Star Line
Home Sector: New Pacific

Class: Galaxy
Role: Star Liner
Species: Terran

Normal Crew Size: 153
Sub-Vessels: 0

Captain: Captain Vincent Reno
Webpage: SL Brikannic
Player: Richard
The White Star Line fleet of passenger and freight liners have been plying their trade since the before there were space ships. Brikannic is flagship of the line, travelling and holidaying among the stars. In the same way as the floating, seagoing hulls have disappeared, so has the combined drive and accomodation units. White Star's fleet consists of passenger and cargo vessels, but neither of these have drive systems beyond energy generation and navigational thrusters. These hotels and warehouses in space spend their time loading and unloading, or vacationing in exotic locations.

In times of strife, the liners are often pressed into service as troop carriers or evacuation transports. Brikannic is missing presumed lost on such an evacuation mission to the Arbor sector.

JSS Aanshah's Fist
Organisation: Jahn Sheefn
Home Sector: Unknown

Class: Nova Cruiser
Role: Planetary Destruction
Species: Unknown

Normal Crew Size: 304
Sub-Vessels: 12 Fighters (est)

Captain: Captain Unknown
Webpage: JSS Aanshah's Fist
Player: Richard
HES Rebecca acquired these images of the heavier ship at the heart of the Jahn Sheefn squadron, a class tentatively dubbed 'Nova Cruiser'. A much smaller vessel was also observed (believed to be in the nature of a fast, long range shuttlecraft), but it is the larger craft that is absorbing the interest of Port Block Yards analysts.

JSS Aanshah's First Finger
Organisation: Jahn Sheefn
Home Sector: Unknown

Class: Cruiser
Role: Space Superiority
Species: Unknown

Normal Crew Size: 265
Sub-Vessels: 12 Fighters (est)

Captain: Captain Unknown
Webpage: JSS Aanshah's First Finger
Player: Richard
A squadron of these vessels passed near to New Pacific sector - they were not aggressive, and they tolerated the respectful curiosity of the Port Block Yards Escort Tender HES Lady Nelson, but they did not welcome any interaction, and calmly cruised on. It is understood that 4 of these vessels and a Jahn Sheefn Nova Cruiser have rendezvoused in Sector Alpha 7,7.

VCS Neatness Robust
Organisation: Vorgan Constructor Fleet
Home Sector: Vorg (Unknown)

Class: Frigate
Role: Survey in force
Species: Vorgan

Normal Crew Size: 38
Sub-Vessels: 4 Lanemarker Class Shuttles

Captain: Prostetnic Vorgan Smith
Webpage: VCS Neatness Robust
Player: Richard
The mission of the Vorgan Constructor Fleet is to clear the way for wide straight space lanes, for the benefit of space lane users and for the glory of straight lines throughout the universe. The wonder and might of each successive generation of the Vorgan Constructor Fleet is demonstrated by the wideness and straightness of the space lanes it has created. The VCS Neatness Robust, with its wing of 4 heavy fighters, is the point of the bulldozer, scoping the way, explaining to lesser species the wonder of wideness and straightness - explaining with discussion, argument, poetry, and heavy particle weapons.
